My Life This Far
My senior year is, going well just as I expected; I met a few new friends and teachers that are just wonderful people. My group of friends remains together, which I’m glad of since most groups of friends separate once they enter high school. I'm thankful I've had them by my side throughout these last three years of high school they have made them wonderful. Sure I had my ups and downs, I've been scared and insecure, but who has not been through that in life? I want to keep moving forward from past failures because it’s not important anymore. I hold my head up high because I choose to believe that after the rain comes a beautiful rainbow. Besides I want to become an outgoing person who has nothing to fear. I thank my friends and counselors who motivated me to join clubs and get involved in school. My family has also played a role in my life this far; they have pushed me to the point where I can’t turn back and say “I couldn’t”. I appreciate their help because it will help me succeed in whichever path I choose.
I accomplished many activities yet so far. I joined three clubs last year and finished one of the graduation requirements. My favorite club was Spanish Homers Society because I had a lot of fun I also had a great time at the club meetings and end of the year parties. I am grateful for having senor Gutierrez as my advisory for the past year of high school. He has taught me many facts about the Spanish language as about life lessons. Last year was my first year in Spanish Honor Society.
My Pace This Far
I am so far on pace to graduate from high school. I received all the classes I wanted this year. I honestly didn't think I was going to make it this far; I always saw my goals as something that would not be possible, but now I see that anything can be done with determination. I can finally relax and stay focus on my new goals. I have chemistry for first period. It is a very interesting class that caught my attention the first time I heard people mention it although it seem a little hard. I'm currently finishing MT 1 assignments. For second period I have English its going good so well I’ve been working on articles and getting done my work. For my third period I have one of my good classes witch is math. The reason I like this class it’s because it’s fun learning new ways to solve problems and also because I have a great teacher that really helps me.
I have Economics as fourth period. I learned a lot in just the first week of school. What worries me are the projects; they are a whole lot different from any projects in my other classes. However, I will manage to pass that class with a 3 or higher if I’m capable of doing it For fifth period I have careers and education. I chose to take this course because I want to learn how to get along with kids and learn how I would be able to help them do better in school. believe taking this class will help me prepare for whenever I have my kids I will be able to help them learn at home. Furthermore, I have leadership for sixth period. I decided to take this class because it helps me get involved in school and be more outgoing this will help me a lot when I go to college. I believe it will be an interesting class because I've always loved helping out in whatever I can especially on selling things to help our school have pride . Last but not least is seventh period, art this is one of my favorite classes because I enjoy drawing for fun and now I leave the change to do it for a class so its perfect.
Into the Future
The future is so near yet so far but can wait to see what happens. What I am really looking forward to is joining tennis and ASL. All I need in order to join tennis is my physical and wait for the first meeting. I am also considering applying to the university my brother is attending this year but I have many other options on mind. I haven’t decided exactly what I want I want study right about now but I would like to attend CSU Bakersfield. On a different note, I am going to take the SAT so I have a higher change on getting accepted in a lot of schools. I'm setting goals and meeting them as my senior year progresses. I hope by the end of this year I've learned plenty of new information to be more prepared for the future.
Journal #5
I am as nervous as one can be when one’s about to reach a special part of life. I’m not nervous as to walking down the aisle to receive my diploma; I’m nervous as to where life will take me next on my journey. However I’ve been thinking on whether I should stay or go far away to a university. At first I wanted to leave home after high school, but then I thought of how I’ll be able to manage things all by myself. I want to be independent, but I know I’m still not completely prepared to take that big step in my life. I would like to go to a community college for the first two years. My parents tell me to stay close then transfer to a university. I would like to do that because I know once I’m done with my first two years I’m going to have more experience on how it is to be with older people and how to be more independent. On the other hand, I would like to head off and learn from experience through life lessons although they never end well ill at least I learn from those mistakes. As long as I’m comfortable and concentrating on my future I know everything will go well and soon will reach my goal.
I’m mostly looking forward to finishing my classes on time and to get my GPA to a 3.5 because I’m really looking forward to graduate with honors for Spanish homers society that’s one of my main goals. I also want to be capable of finishing some classes with a 4 so it can look good when I apply to colleges. On the other hand I want to make the best out of my senior year and walk down that aisle showing my parents I did it. I would make my parents so happy because I know that they did not have the opportunity to finish school and their biggest dreams were for their kids to be capable of making their dreams come true and going far in life and being able to have a decent job.
I’m very grateful of getting to know myself better and learning new life lessons that will come in handy. I’m also happy about being more outgoing because it feels good not being shy. I wouldn’t have normally done some of the things I did this year if I would of still been shy. One of the things I did was join sports. I enjoyed knowing more about tennis and soccer and being able to meet with a couple friends after practice. I really enjoyed playing these sports because it would keep me active and in shape and it will help me get more involved in school. I’m also happy to have joined the American Sign Language club which has also made me learn a new language and get to be able to communicate with people that only understand sign language.
